Hospice & Bereavement

Bereavement and Hospice

Picture

Bereavement and Hospice   No one should die without spiritual support! We as a church want to be with you and your family for spiritual and emotional support.

Our goal is to have all of our members prepared to minister to those who are bereaving.

Pastor Bruce Klein has extensive experience as a hospice chaplain. He was a full-time salaried hospice chaplain for over three years.

Pastor Dana Klein has extensive experience as a hospital nurse, social worker, and as a hospice chaplain.

The Role of a Pastor

During hard times, we all need a friend, right?

Sometimes you just need a shoulder to cry on.

As pastors, we are your friends; we are that shoulder.

You should call us when you need that friend – any hour including during the middle of the night!

Jesus also wants to be your friend. In His letter to the Ephesians, He writes about putting off and then putting on. When you drive home, you may have some stress especially after driving in heavy traffic. What do you do? You may arrive at home turning on good Christian music to relax. What are you doing? You are putting off the stress of driving and putting on relaxation. Easy, right?

As pastors, we help you to put off grief and put on something else for maybe a moment, to allow you to get your thoughts back into perspective. There may be times when you can only see a tree or a few trees. That’s the time you need someone who can see the entire forest. You need someone who can see the entire picture. That person can offer encouragement. That’s us. We may say … .  Life will get better. There is hope. People do care. Your family does care.

Jesus tells you He cares. He says to, cast all of your care on Him for He cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7.

Jesus also says, “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.”       Matthew 5:4

“… Blessed are you that weep now: for you shall laugh.”             Luke 6:21

“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”    2 Corinthians 5:8

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”         Revelation 21:4

“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?”            1 Corinthians 15:52-55

“For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.”        Revelation 7:17
